DuelChamp Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of DuelChamp. They are written to be read, not to be survived. Where something about this service is awkward or limited, they say so, because a term you did not understand is a term that helps nobody.
1. Who you are dealing with
DuelChamp is operated by Carmine Ilario, an individual established in the European Union, at Via Roma 16, 80053 Castellammare di Stabia (NA), Italy. Contact: support@duelchamp.com.
In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that person, "you" means you, and "the Service" means the DuelChamp website and everything it does.
2. What DuelChamp actually does — and does not do
DuelChamp helps players organise League of Legends matches. It creates lobbies and tournaments, generates a tournament code through Riot Games' official API, and afterwards reads the result back from Riot.
DuelChamp does not run, control, host or observe your matches. You paste the code into your own League of Legends client. The game is played on Riot's servers, under Riot's rules. We find out what happened when Riot tells us.
Three consequences you should understand before relying on the Service:
We cannot make a match start. If a player does not launch the game, we cannot compel them, and we cannot see why they did not.
We cannot tell who failed to appear. When a match does not happen, the data Riot provides does not identify which player was missing. This is a limitation of the available data, not a policy choice, and it is the reason we do not impose automatic penalties on anyone.
We cannot guarantee that only invited players get in. We send Riot the list of players allowed into each match, but enforcement of that list is Riot's, and it is known to be unreliable. We detect and flag it when somebody unexpected appears in a result. We cannot prevent it.
3. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 16 years old. You confirm this when you register. We do not verify it against documents, which means the honesty of that declaration is yours to keep.
You need a Riot Games account to do anything competitive — join a lobby, enter a tournament, appear on a leaderboard. You can browse, read and follow tournaments without one.
You must comply with Riot Games' own terms of service. If Riot suspends or terminates your Riot account, the competitive parts of DuelChamp stop working for you, and there is nothing we can do about that.
You may hold one DuelChamp account. A Riot account may be linked to one DuelChamp account at a time.
4. Your account
We support three ways to sign in: a Google account, a one-time link sent to your email address, or Riot Sign On. There are no passwords anywhere in the Service.
You are responsible for keeping access to whichever of those you use. If you lose access to the email address behind a magic-link account, we may not be able to restore your account — we deliberately store very little about you, and that cuts both ways.
You can unlink your Riot account, except while you have live obligations: an unfinished tournament, or a lobby whose match has already been created.
5. Lobbies
Anyone with an account and a linked Riot account can create a lobby. The person who creates it is the host.
The host can remove a player who has not yet confirmed, replace a player who failed to appear, and dissolve the lobby. A ready-check requires everyone to confirm within the time shown; if it fails, a short cooldown applies before it can be started again.
A match can be retried at most twice after a failed start or a remake. After that the Service does not offer another attempt, and the host's remaining option is to dissolve the lobby. There is no moderator for a lobby: lobbies are short-lived, and the role does not exist there.
Each attempt produces a new tournament code. Codes are never reused between attempts.
6. Tournaments
Organisers. Whoever creates a tournament runs it, and may appoint moderators, who have the same operational powers except the power to appoint further moderators. Organisers are responsible for their own tournament's rules, fairness and communications.
Teams. Players join or create teams; captains approve members. A team is eligible only with exactly the required number of members — not more, not fewer. Rosters freeze when registration closes and cannot be changed afterwards. A player may belong to only one team per tournament.
Minimum size. Every tournament requires at least 20 participating players. This is a Riot Games policy requirement, it applies to every tournament regardless of size or prizes, and we cannot waive it. A tournament that does not reach it when registration closes does not start by itself: the organiser decides what to do.
Rounds do not start by themselves. The organiser starts each round, including the first.
When something goes wrong, the affected bracket position is blocked for a moderator to resolve. A moderator may order a replay or award the match to one side. That decision is recorded with a stated reason.
No prizes, no entry fees. The Service currently supports neither. Do not organise a tournament on DuelChamp that charges an entry fee or awards a prize pool through it. Gambling and betting are prohibited outright, by us and by Riot Games.
Organisers running tournaments in Europe are also bound by Riot Games' European community competition policies, and in North America by the equivalent regional policies. Complying with them is the organiser's responsibility.
7. Results and the leaderboard
Results come from Riot Games and cannot be edited by anyone, including us. Neither an organiser, nor a moderator, nor we can change what Riot reported.
What a moderator can do is override the effect of a result — advance a different team in a bracket, or exclude a match from the leaderboard — which is recorded as a separate, visible act rather than a quiet correction. Declaring the outcome of a lobby match without Riot's confirmation is reserved to platform staff, is always recorded, and is never done at the host's request, because the host is a party to it.
The leaderboard counts total wins, in full 5v5 matches only. Matches that ended in a remake do not count. Tournament matches never count towards the platform leaderboard. If a match was retried, only one attempt counts.
The leaderboard is not a skill rating. It does not calculate or display MMR, ELO or any estimate of how good you are, and it should not be read as one. Riot's policies prohibit third parties from creating alternatives to their official ranking systems, and we do not want to be one.
If you have not consented to public visibility, you appear as an anonymous player on every leaderboard, including private ones shared with friends.
8. How you must behave
Do not:
- cheat, use unauthorised software, or exploit defects in the Service;
- deliberately lose, or arrange a result in advance;
- play on an account that is not yours, or let somebody else play on yours;
- join matches you are not entitled to join;
- harass, threaten or abuse other players;
- create accounts to evade a suspension;
- automate access to the Service, scrape it, or attempt to circumvent its rate limits;
- use the Service for gambling, betting or any unlawful purpose.
9. Moderation and sanctions
No sanction is ever applied automatically. When something goes wrong, the Service records what happened and a person reviews it. Nothing counts against you until a human has confirmed it.
Confirmed misconduct can lead to a temporary suspension from competitive features and, in serious or repeated cases, to a longer or permanent one. Every such action is recorded with a reason.
A suspension does not remove you from a tournament that has already started. Doing so would punish your teammates and break a live bracket. It stops you entering new ones.
If you think a decision was wrong, write to support@duelchamp.com. We do not yet have a self-service appeal screen; the email is read by a person, and the outcome is recorded the same way the original decision was.
10. Availability
The Service is free of charge and provided as it is. We do not promise uptime, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it.
We depend on Riot Games' API. When it is unavailable, degraded, or returns data we did not expect, parts of DuelChamp stop working. Riot may also change or withdraw that access at any time, which could require us to shut down features or the whole Service.
This does not remove your rights as a consumer. Because you provide personal data in order to use the Service, Directive (EU) 2019/770 on digital content and services applies to it, and the conformity rights it gives you cannot be excluded by anything in these terms.
11. Our liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
Subject to that: because the Service is provided free of charge, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost opportunities or prizes, for the conduct of other players, for anything that happens inside League of Legends, or for the acts and omissions of Riot Games.
You are responsible for what you do on the Service, including as a tournament organiser.
12. Intellectual property
The Service, its design and its content are ours, except for material belonging to Riot Games. You keep whatever rights you have in what you submit — team names, tournament descriptions — and give us permission to display it within the Service.
League of Legends, Riot Games and all related marks and assets belong to Riot Games, Inc. We use them under Riot's developer policies. Do not use them, through us, in ways those policies prohibit.
13. Ending things
You may delete your account at any time. Deletion is immediate, permanent and cannot be undone; what survives it and why is set out in our Privacy Policy. We may refuse to delete while you have live obligations to other players, as described there.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if required by Riot Games, or if we stop operating the Service. Where the circumstances allow it, we will tell you why.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the Service before they take effect, and the date at the top identifies the version you are reading. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept it; if you do not accept it, delete your account.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. You may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
If any provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
